Jeffrey Burton Russell on the Compatibility of Science and Christianity

"If it were true that Christianity and science were incompatible, there would be no Christians who were respected scientists.  In fact, about forty percent of professional natural scientists are practicing Christians, and many others are theists of other kinds.  Fewer than thirty percent are atheists...in universities, more Christians are found in the natural sciences than in any other fields."

Courage and Godspeed,

If being a police officer and committing crimes were incompatible, there would be no police officers committing crimes.

See, it's theoretically incompatible, but practically speaking it's done all the time.

Interestingly, when the Christian is doing good science they are engaging in a practice that is completely consistent with their worldview. As even Richard Dawkins admits, science was birthed from theism.

However, when a police officer is engaging in crime he is acting in direct violation with what he is supposed to be doing.
